The Standard When Good Enough Isn’t Good Enough
Official carrier for the Investec Cape Town Art Fair. Museum-standard handling for your irreplaceable pieces.
White glove delivery is not just careful handling. It’s a complete service designed around the principle that some items are irreplaceable and demand professional treatment from collection through to final placement.
White glove service is designed for items where damage has more than just financial cost. These are the goods we move:
Paintings, sculptures, prints, photography. Museum-quality handling based on our experience with the Investec Cape Town Art Fair. Climate-controlled transport, condition documentation, and professional placement.
Bespoke and limited-edition pieces from leading Cape Town makers. Specialist wrapping for lacquered finishes, upholstery, and custom details. Room placement and positioning to specification.
Delicate and valuable pieces requiring individual wrapping and secure placement. Two-person handling and careful transportation prevent breakage and chip damage.
Oversized glass requires specialist handling to prevent edge damage and stressing. We use custom carriers and two-person placement for safety.
Statement pieces, lighting installations, custom furnishings. White glove service ensures these anchor pieces arrive in perfect condition.
Heritage pieces and irreplaceable items. Individual documentation, climate control, and placement guidance ensure preservation and careful handling.
Consider the real cost of damage. A designer sofa costs between R15,000 and R45,000. Standard courier damage—a ripped seam, a stain, a broken leg—will cost R4,000 to R8,000 to repair and potentially devalue the piece permanently. An original artwork or limited-edition sculpture can’t be repaired: it’s a total loss.
White glove delivery costs a premium, but it’s insurance by another name. The question isn’t “Can I afford white glove delivery?” It’s “Can I afford not to?”
JLog is the official carrier for the Investec Cape Town Art Fair—one of South Africa’s premier art events. We’ve handled hundreds of works from South Africa’s leading galleries and independent dealers. We’ve moved museum-quality pieces, limited-edition sculptures, and works valued in the hundreds of thousands of rands. That experience is the standard we apply to every white glove delivery.
White glove delivery rates start at R950 for a single item within the Cape Town metro. Premium for two-person team, larger vehicles, or complex access is quoted individually.
For large, multiple-item, or complex deliveries—corporate installations, gallery collections, complex access scenarios—we provide a full written quotation after discussing your specific needs.
JLog’s white glove delivery includes: pre-delivery consultation, specialist vehicle with blanket-lined interior, full condition documentation with photographs, climate-aware transport, two-person delivery team, room-of-choice placement, unpacking and wrapping removal, basic installation (picture hooks, mirror plates), packaging disposal, and proof of delivery with condition photos. The standard is set by our work as official carrier for the Investec Cape Town Art Fair.
Yes. Basic installation is included in white glove delivery. This covers picture hooks, mirror plates, and simple wall fixings. For complex installations requiring specialist tools or drilling into tile, stonework, or listed property, we’ll quote separately. We always assess the wall and provide professional advice on placement before hanging.
We recommend booking white glove delivery at least 7 days in advance. This allows us to schedule the appropriate vehicle, brief the delivery team, and plan access. For urgent deliveries within Cape Town metro, we can often accommodate 48-hour notice. Same-day service is rarely available. Contact us with your dates and we’ll confirm.
Our panel van can accommodate items up to 2 metres in length and 500kg in weight. For larger pieces—oversized artworks, statement furniture, installation pieces—we provide custom quoting. If an item requires special equipment (lifting gear, specialist rigging) or multiple vehicles, we’ll advise and quote accordingly.
JLog carries professional indemnity and public liability insurance. For high-value items—original artwork, antiques, designer pieces—we strongly recommend that you maintain insurance for their full replacement value. We can advise on the insurance process. Our documentation (condition photos, signatures, proof of delivery) supports any claim you may need to lodge.
Yes. Packaging removal and disposal is included in white glove delivery. We carefully unpack goods at destination, store any reusable packaging temporarily (crates, boxes, wrapping), and take it away with us. You’re left with goods placed exactly where you want them and a tidy site.
